On the night of July 1st, the planets Venus and Jupiter were clearly visible in the sky, which is a rare event. I captured them at around 8 pm at Hyderabad, India.
In fact, they are not close to each other, instead are hundreds of millions of kilometers apart. We could see them closer because they aligned almost on the same line of sight when viewed from Earth.
Although Jupiter is much much bigger than Venus, the latter appears brighter. This is because, it is much closer to Earth and its clouds reflect most of the sunlight that reaches it.
